Student had gun at Lincoln Southeast, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 16-year-old student had a gun at Lincoln Southeast High School on Monday, police say.
About 3 p.m., the Lincoln Police Department received a tip that a 16-year-old boy was armed.
By that time, school was already letting out, so police said they approached him at his home.
In his backpack, officers said they found an orange 9 mm handgun loaded with six rounds.
It’s not clear whether the gun was loaded while the boy was at school.
The student was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a firearm at school, possession of a handgun by a minor and carrying a concealed weapon with no disclosure.
