Students, families learn to garden at Lincoln elementary school on Earth Day

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Students and their families learned how to take care of a garden Saturday morning at Norwood Park Elementary School.

Volunteers with Capitol City Christian Church, which partnered with the school for the project, provided gardening tips.

During the event, students and families also got the chance to plant carrots, radishes and green onions in the school’s new plant beds.

Volunteers said students will get to come back during the summer and pick out vegetables they planted.
