‘Such an extraordinary team’: Gov. Jim Pillen proclaims Snow Fighter Recognition Week
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Gov. Jim Pillen recognized the work of snowplow drivers who cleared roads during two winter storms last month.
On Wednesday, Pillen proclaimed this week as Snow Fighter Recognition Week to honor public servants for clearing more than 3 million miles of roads last year.
He also highlighted the importance of the snowplow drivers, who were crucial during the snow storms in January.
“You all work together, such an extraordinary team,” Pillen said. “It’s like a symphony when things happen and from my seat it’s really been cool to learn and see and be able to be a real small part of it.”
Pillen urged Nebraskans to always be cautious around snowplows and appreciative of all the work they do.
“Everybody rolls up their sleeves the Nebraska way, helping neighbor to neighbor, making sure we’re safe, taking care of each other,” he said. “It is the reason Nebraska is the greatest place to live in the history of civilization.”
