Summer heat returns today 6/22/2021
It’s a chilly summer morning across southeast Nebraska as current temperatures are sitting in 50s thanks to clear skies. Grab your light jacket before you head outside!
We will start off your afternoon with sunny skies, but clouds will build in by the evening and wind speeds will pick up. Wind gusts out of the south will be near 25 mph. These southerly winds will boost our temperatures back into the low 90s today bringing us back above average.
There is a chance for a few isolated thunderstorms to develop near the Iowa border this afternoon and evening. Some of the storms that develop could be on the strong to severe side.
We calm down overnight and skies will gradually clear with temperatures in the 60s. Highs continue to warm the next few days into the mid-90s and rain chances increase every single day. High temperatures cool just in time for the weekend.
