Summer pattern prevails now going forward
Now getting later into July, it should come as no surprise that we’ll be switching back to summer heat soon enough. July has been good to us so far, though. Most days were below average and relatively cool by July standards.
And we are still running over three and a half inches above normal for precipitation this month. Lincoln is just over a total of 6″ heading into July 24.
However, it looks to be very dry to end the month.
The temperature outlook for next week shows the summer pattern expected to prevail in Nebraska. Darker red indicate a really good chance at seeing temperatures above normal and hot. We’ll likely be seeing temperatures approach the upper 90s most days starting around Monday next week.
The gradual warming so far this week has continued to make each day feel more and more like July. Today, highs should be back around normal in the lower 90s with a light west wind.
The humidity will be tolerable, only making it feel a couple degrees hotter than actual air temperatures are reading throughout the day.
As for the haze, we’re expecting that to linger. Most of it will still be aloft with little to no impact at the surface regarding the air quality.
Just a little more is expected to make it to the surface throughout Wednesday in eastern Nebraska.
