Sunny, Breezy and Slightly Cooler Saturday
Forecast:
It will be a windy close to our Friday in Lincoln, but temperatures will certainly be nothing to complain about for any Husker football and volleyball watch parties. A strong northerly wind will help cool us down, with the temperatures dropping into the 60s shortly after sunset.
A pleasant fall evening up in Minneapolis for Nebraska vs Minnesota. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CDT with temperatures in the mid-60s
A pleasant evening ahead for high school football as well. Kickoff between the Norris Titans and the Waverly Vikings is set for 6 p.m. out in Waverly, where temperatures will be in the mid-70s.
Cooler temperatures continue to move into southeast Nebraska this evening.
With mostly clear skies, expect a cooler evening ahead in Lincoln, with low temperatures tonight into the upper 40s.
High temperatures tomorrow will depend on a cold front moving across the state Saturday afternoon. Highs tomorrow will be in the 60s and 70s.
Lincoln should stay ahead of the front just long enough to reach the 70s, but we will not see much more than that. Strong winds move into the area as the cold front passes tomorrow afternoon.
Storm chances along the passing front will be minimal tomorrow, with northeast Nebraska seeing the best chances for rain tomorrow. Cold, dry air behind the front moves across the state throughout the day Saturday.
Central and southwestern Nebraska will be under a Freeze Watch beginning Saturday night. Temperatures could drop as low as the lower 20s in portions of central Nebraska.
While we stay above freezing, lows in the upper 30s return to southeast Nebraska early Sunday morning. Mostly sunny and breezy heading into and throughout the week ahead. Several cold fronts will pass through over the coming days, but with minimal moisture return in between each front, we will stay on the dry side for much of the foreseeable future.
