Sunny start to the weekend ends with more clouds and a chance for rain
A nice weekend is shaping up for southeast Nebraska. More sunshine Saturday compared to Sunday but both days should have temperatures in the 60°s.
Clouds Friday night will depart after midnight turning skies clear by early Saturday morning. Lows will only drop to the 30°s.
Sunny skies are expected throughout the day Saturday. Winds will be out of the northwest, shifting to the north, sustained at 5 to 12 mph with occasional gusts to 25 mph. Temperatures will top out in the lower to middle 60°s.
Clouds will be on the increase Saturday night ahead of a weather system that will dive out of South Dakota Sunday. Temperatures will drop to the upper 30°s to near 40° Sunday morning.
Expect to have mostly cloudy skies on Sunday. Warmer air should be drawn up ahead of the weather system that will pass through eastern Nebraska during the day. Even with the cloud cover, temperatures should be able to climb to the middle and upper 60°s. There will be a chance for a few scattered showers as the system passes through the state. The best chance appears to be over northeast Nebraska, but keep an eye on updates to the forecast from Meteorologist Malcolm Byron in case rain shifts south.
