Sunny, warmer days on tap; break from winter weather
What a wild ride January has been so far. We also had some weird weather streaks happen over the past couple weeks, too, including:
- January 10-22: below freezing for 276 hours
- January 22-27: at or above freezing for 110 hours
- January 22-27: foggy, with overcast conditions for about 124 hours
But with the sun coming back and conditions lining up for warmer weather, we’ll be way above average with highs in the 40s and 50s.
It’ll be a good time to get at least a layer of dirt and grime off with a car wash this week. We’ll also experience a lot of melting even though snow depth has already been cut into considerably. As of Sunday, the Lincoln airport was only recording about 2″ for the current snow depth.
Again, there’s a lot more sunshine in the forecast. We also stay dry and get a break from winter weather for a while. Rain chances will increase heading into the first part of the weekend, with a lot still to figure out with that.
Temperatures at this time of the year should be around the upper 30s, but the forecast looks more like March.
We’ll be above average each day by almost 10-20 degrees this week! Our warmest day looks to come on Wednesday.
