Suspected arson at Lancaster County home caused $4,000 in damage, sheriff’s office says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspected arson at a home west of Lincoln on Saturday.

Around 7:15 p.m., fire crews from Pleasant Dale and Malcolm were sent to an uninhabited home near Northwest 56th and Holdrege streets on a report of a car fire.

Capt. Tommy Trotter said the fire, which caused $2,400 in damage to the car, appears to be an intentional arson.

The home also had $2,000 in damage, according to Trotter.  A 78-year-old, who lives at a different location, owns the home
