Suspected arson at northwest Lincoln home caused $165,000 in damage, LFR says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An arson investigation is underway after a house fire Tuesday in northwest Lincoln.

The fire was reported around 8:15 p.m. at a home near Northwest 44th Street and West Huntington Avenue.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue spokeswoman MJ Lierman said a neighbor noticed the fire. The residents were out of town.

Firefighters extinguished the flames quickly.

The fire caused about $115,000 in damage to the structure and another $50,000 to the contents.

Lierman said suspicious burn marks led investigators to suspect arson.
