SUV leaves road and hits tree in southeast Lincoln crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two vehicles were totaled Wednesday night in a crash in southeast Lincoln.

The crash happened about 11:45 p.m. at 48th and South streets.

The driver of an SUV ran a red light and hit a car, according to the crash report.

The impact sent the SUV off the road and into a tree, knocking it down.

Three people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Videos submitted by users to the NOW Local News App showed that both vehicles had heavy damage.

The driver of the SUV, a Lincoln woman, was ticketed for negligent driving.

The other driver was cited for not having insurance, police said.
