UPDATE: Wrong-way driver blamed in crash that sent an SUV plowing into pole

Police tell us the wrong-way driver then took off running

UPDATE 10:25 a.m. — Lincoln police are now telling us a wrong-way driver is to blame for this morning’s crash.

They say the driver ran into another vehicle and then took off running.

More information is expected later today.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Drivers near Gateway mall are asked to slow down and give police plenty of room as they investigate a 2 vehicle crash at south Cotner Boulevard and O Street this morning.

Channel 8’s Nathan Greve is on scene and showed us an SUV has slammed into a pole, while the car involved in this wreck is sitting in the middle of the road as several patrol vehicles surround both.

Right now there is no word on what led up to this crash or if anyone was hurt.

It was first reported just after 5 a.m.

Our crew arrived shortly after that and saw an ambulance pulling away from the scene.
