LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Syracuse linebacker is trading in the orange for the scarlet and cream.

On Thursday, Stefon Thompson — who will be a redshirt junior — announced that he would be transferring to Nebraska.

In 2021, Thompson started every game at linebacker, picking up 79 tackles, eight tackles for a loss and six sacks.

He suffered a season-ending injury in the first game of the 2022 season.

But the North Carolina native played in every game last season, finishing with 52 tackles, four tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks.

In the last 24 hours, Wake Forest wide receiver Jahmal Banks and Florida offensive lineman Micah Mazzccua have transferred to Nebraska.
