Tailgating Husker Fans Stand With Team After Loss To Minnesota

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Cornhuskers may have lost against Minnesota Golden Gophers Saturday, but that didn’t stop tailgating fans from rooting for their team.

Outside the east entrance of Memorial Stadium tailgaters plugged in radios and television sets to watch the game.

Many took the time to throw a couple of passes themselves with fellow fans to pass the time.

The game looked promising for the Huskers in the first half, but they would eventually be overtaken by Minnesota in the second half.

Husker fan Jim Fleissner said he felt bad for the team because they played their best.

“As Nebraska fans, we’re proud of all these kids,” he said. “We know how hard they work and we appreciate all their efforts.”

Many Husker fans at tailgates around the downtown area held the same sentiment as Fleissner.

All of them are ready to stick with the team through thick and thin.

The next home game will be Saturday, Nov. 19 at Memorial Stadium against Wisconsin.
