Teen accused of DUI after crashing into ditch on rural Nebraska road

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teen was arrested Sunday after they crashed into a ditch west of Columbus.

The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened near the intersection of Monroe and F F Roads.

The 18-year-old driver was heading north at a high speed when they went into the ditch, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities said the driver was not wearing a seat belt but didn’t have any injuries.

Deputies arrested the teen on suspicion of driving under the influence, willful reckless driving and having no operator’s license.
