Teen arrested in crash that killed motorcyclist in north Lincoln, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police arrested an 18-year-old Wednesday for her involvement in a crash that killed a motorcyclist back in August.
Alexis Kelly was taken into custody around 8:30 a.m., police say.
On Aug. 29, Kelly had been heading east on Cornhusker Highway when she turned north onto 35th Street and struck a westbound motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, 28-year-old Pierce White, died at the scene, according to police.
At the time of the crash, officers conducted a drug recognition exam, which later confirmed the presence of marijuana, police say.
Kelly was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle homicide-DUI.
