Teen boys accused of luring sex predator to Milford home and assaulting him, authorities say

MILFORD, Neb. (KLKN) – Three teenage boys are being accused of luring a sex predator to a Milford home and assaulting him, authorities said.

The Milford Police Department is investigating the incident, which they said occurred sometime within the past few weeks.

The Seward County Attorney, Wendy Elston, said a concerned parent sent a video showing an assault to police last Monday.

The three boys were detained at Milford High School on Tuesday, according to an email sent to Milford High School parents.

Elston is still working to find out exactly what led up to the assault. But so far, it seems to be the work of some teenage vigilantes, authorities said.

Law enforcement believes the boys began communicating with a 31-year-old man through Grindr, which is a dating app for the LGBTQ+ community.

Elston said the investigation indicates the teens invited the man to a Milford house under the guise that he would be meeting up with a boy under the age of 16 for sexual activities.

But then, it reportedly took a violent turn. The video allegedly shows the boys intimidating the man, refusing to let him leave and beating him up, law enforcement said.

“The victim has not been identified and law enforcement urges the victim to come forward to either the Milford Police Department or the Seward County Victim Advocate,” Elston said.

She said there is a lot left to investigate in the case, including the possibility that there could be additional videos and victims involved.

Elston said this is a good lesson for everyone:

“People need to be careful when they meet other individuals at their home.”

The teens are facing charges of assault, terroristic threats and false imprisonment.
