Teen killed in Omaha shooting that injured five others
LINCOLN Neb. (KLKN) — Omaha Police are investigating a homicide after a 16-year-old boy was killed and five others were injured in a shooting.
Officers found Lamarantae Swift with a gunshot wound near North 24th and Decatur streets after receiving a call at 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
The Omaha Fire Department took Swift to Nebraska Medicine, where he died.
Two more victims arrived at Nebraska Medicine, and three more victims arrived at Creighton University Medical Center.
The Omaha Police homicide unit is asking witnesses to come forward.
“The violent loss of a young person’s life and the injuries to multiple people is intolerable for our community,” Chief Todd Schmaderer said in a press release.
The investigation is ongoing, and a possible reward of $25,000 is being offered for tips.
