Teen leads trooper on high-speed pursuit in Lincoln, patrol says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln teen led a trooper on a high-speed pursuit throughout the city Tuesday morning, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

Around 2 a.m., a trooper tried to pull over two motorcycles that were driving without license plates near 56th and O Streets.

Both motorcycles refused to pull over and instead drove off quickly, the patrol said.

The trooper then began to chase after the two motorcycles.  After reaching city limits, one motorcycle turned north, while the other continued heading east on Highway 34.

The trooper continued to chase the motorcycle heading east, which was reaching speeds of up to 100 mph, according to the patrol.

Near 120th Street, the rider stopped his motorcycle, the patrol said.  The 17-year-old male was then taken into custody without incident.

Brass knuckles and a handgun were found in the rider’s possession.

The teen was taken to the Lancaster County Youth Services on suspicion of willful reckless driving, carrying a concealed weapon and flight to avoid arrest.
