Teen shot multiple times in Grand Island store’s parking lot, according to police
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Grand Island Police Department says a 17-year-old was shot multiple times on Monday.
Officers were called to the Super Saver in north Grand Island just before midnight, after gunshots were heard.
GIPD said officers found multiple 9 mm shell casings before the teen turned up at the St. Francis Hospital emergency room.
Police said he then pointed them in the direction of another 17-year-old, who admitted that they were in the Super Saver parking lot to sell marijuana.
He also told them that some people who came looking to buy drugs tried robbing them, leading to a fight.
Authorities say that’s when the shooting happened, and both teens rushed to the emergency room.
As of Tuesday morning, there was no indication that the robbers have been found.
The teen who was not shot has since been arrested on several charges, including possession of a defaced firearm and driving during suspension.
