Teen stabbed in back during argument in Grand Island, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teen is facing several felony charges after a stabbing Friday in Grand Island, police say.

The stabbing happened around 1:30 p.m. near Locust and Hedde streets.

Police said a teen was stabbed in the back during an argument with people he knew.  A fight broke out after the stabbing.

Later on, officers found the 17-year-old boy who stabbed the victim, according to police.

Investigators learned the teen drove out of town and threw the knife in an “unknown area,” police said.

The boy was cited on suspicion of first-degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony and tampering with physical evidence.

The extent of the victim’s injuries is unknown.
