Teen tells Lincoln police she was trafficked ‘across the country’

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teen says she was trafficked throughout multiple states by a Missouri man, according to Lincoln Police.

The trafficking reportedly happened from December to February.  The victim did not report the incident until Wednesday, police say.

The victim and the suspect were communicating through social media as far back as September 2021.

The 40-year-old man is reported to be a truck driver, police say.

The victim reported being driven “across the country,” specifically through California, Colorado, and Missouri.  She was trafficked at various truck stops along the way, according to police.

The victim had previously lived in Lincoln and surrounding areas, but it is unclear where she is from.

No arrests have been made, and the case is still under investigation.
