Teenagers crash vehicle in Lincoln Saturday morning after fleeing troopers

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teenage driver caused a three-car crash early Saturday morning after fleeing troopers.

Nebraska State Patrol said they tried to pull the car over for reckless driving near 27th and Vine Street, but the driver sped off into a nearby neighborhood.

Moments later, the trooper saw the same car hit two other cars at the intersection of 31 and Q Street.

Troopers said five teenagers were in the original vehicle they tried to stop.

The driver and one passenger were taken to the hospital by ambulance for minor injuries.  The other three minors were released back to their parents.

The driver was cited for suspicion of willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, no operator’s license, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  Their name has not been released.
