Temperatures attempt to shatter record highs today 3/2/2022
Your Wednesday is off to a chilly start with temperatures currently ranging from the 20s to 40s. Make sure to grab your coat this morning, but exchange it for the t-shirt by the afternoon! It will feel like a spring day today with highs back in the mid to upper 70s and mostly sunny skies. Dry air will pose the threat for fire weather again today, so avoid burning or open flames. Temperatures remain in the low 30s tonight with increasing wind speeds and clouds as a cold front pushes through. This front will keep temperatures a tad cooler than the last few days, with highs in the low 50s tomorrow. The mid to upper 60s return Friday and Saturday before a stronger system pushes through and drops high temperatures into the 30s for Sunday. Precipitation chances are still looking likely across Nebraska for the end of the week and the weekend. Rain showers and even some thunderstorms are possible late Friday into Saturday. The western half of the state could see snow on Saturday while eastern Nebraska will just see rain showers. Some snow will try to impact southeast Nebraska late Sunday into Monday, but the highest chances still remain to our north. Dry air could impact how much of this precipitation impacts eastern Nebraska, so check back for daily updates!
