Temperatures Continue to Rise, Windy for Friday

Forecast:

Df Lincoln Today Hour By Hour

Temperatures continue to climb into the upper 80s in the Capital City on Thursday afternoon. We will stay well short of the record high for today (94 degrees in 2005), but a hot and breezy afternoon regardless.

Df Dma Tonight Low

Low temperatures will remain on the warmer side tonight across southeast Nebraska.

Df Skycast Tonight

Mostly clear skies this evening in Lincoln, with low temperatures in the lower 60s.

Df Dma Tomorrow High

Hot and breezy to close out the work week for southeast Nebraska, with temperatures climbing a couple more degrees compared to Thursday.

Df Day Planner With High Pivot

Lots of sunshine in the Capital City on Friday, but temperatures continue to feel like early August rather than early October. Highs tomorrow in the lower 90s with wind gusts up to 30 miles per hour.

Hs Football Game Of The Week

Both the heat and wind will play a factor in this week’s Game of the Week, featuring the Malcolm Clippers taking on the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers. Temperatures will still be in the 80s with a strong southerly wind.

Weekend Forecast:

Hot and breezy for Nebraska vs Michigan State on Saturday, with highs looking to crack 90 degrees once again in Lincoln. Wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour cannot be ruled out either.

1004spc

Severe weather chances return to the forecast Saturday evening for the northern and western portions of the state. There is a Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) for severe weather, with large hail and damaging winds being the main concerns.

Df Weekend Fcst 2

Unfortunately, the first weekend of October is not looking like great pumpkin patch weather.

Df 10 Day Forecast

Some good news with the long-term forecast is that the warmer temperatures will not stick around for too much longer. Expect a big cool down as we start the work week on Monday, with highs dropping into the 60s. We will get several chances for showers and thunderstorms, with mild temperatures heading into the middle of October.
