Texas man arrested in deadly crash in southwest Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Texas man was arrested after a fatal crash in southwest Nebraska.
The Hitchcock County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol responded just before 7 a.m. Thursday to a crash involving two semitrailers at the intersection of Highways 6 and 25.

An investigation shows a semi was driving north on Highway 25, just north of Trenton, authorities said.
The semi blew by a stop sign, according to authorities, and collided with another semi that was driving west on Highway 6.
Wayne Cook, 42, of McCook was the driver of the westbound semi and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the northbound semi was identified as 50-year-old Keith Gesegnet of Stephenville, Texas.
He was arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle homicide, tampering with physical evidence, possession of alcohol and numerous other commercial vehicle violations.
The investigation remains ongoing.
