The Center for People celebrates 20 years of service with a community parking lot party

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Center for People brought out four bands and multiple food trucks for a parking lot party to celebrate the community.
The center serves the low-income community in Lincoln and provides food, work and education resources. Their mission is to help individuals grow and succeed through their programs without expense and hardship.
The party was to celebrate the center’s 20 year anniversary of serving Lincoln and the surrounding communities.
The event featured live music, food trucks, a beer garden and a community painting station.
Macala Carter, the executive director for the center, is excited to see what the future brings.
“We’re celebrating our 20th anniversary today,” she said. “Beatty Brasch is our founder, and she is a wonderful force. She is the reason we are here, and she carved out such a dynamic platform for us to really build upon and thrive in the coming years. We’re really excited to celebrate our last 20 years but equally excited for the next 20 years,” said Carter.
