The city has 93 units out plowing and treating Lincoln streets

City officials say 93 units are currently plowing and applying granular salt pre-wet with brine to arterial, bus and school routes.

Arterial streets range from partially to completely snow-covered.

The Transportation and Utilities Department reminds residents that when snowfall occurs during regular business hours it is able to dispatch additional units which are otherwise unavailable after 5 p.m.

This escalation of resources allows crews to clear streets sooner while navigating higher daytime traffic volumes.

The Channel 8 Weather Team says a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. today.

Snow accumulation of up to 4 inches is possible.

Be alert for slick spots and black ice throughout the day.

Slow down and allow extra travel time and stopping distance.
