The City of Lincoln gears up for this year’s record-setting Good Life Halfsy

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Excitement is building for the 12th annual Good Life Halfsy.
A record-setting field of more than 9,000 runners will take to the streets of Lincoln on Sunday, making this the largest Good Life Halfsy in history and the biggest half-marathon in Nebraska.
According to organizers, this is the 12th consecutive sellout and a 25% increase in participation over last year’s field of 7,100 runners.
Runners will start at Seacrest Field at 8:30 a.m. and follow a course that winds through some of the city’s most iconic sights — Holmes Lake, Antelope Valley, Union Plaza, Innovation Campus, and the historic North Bottoms Neighborhood — before crossing the finish line beside The Railyard in the Haymarket District.

“The growth we’ve seen in the event is a real testament to how excited runners are about a fall race with a fast, net-downhill course where they can shoot for a PR,” said Jason Bakewell, race co-director.
Participants will kick off race weekend at the Run Expo on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Sandhills Global Event Center. The expo will host dozens of vendors and local businesses.
“I can’t wait to see runners from all over the country join us this year,” said Ben Cohoon, race co-director. “We’ve expanded the course capacity to give them more room to run, and it’s so rewarding to see Lincoln come out and support this race each year.”
Cheer stations, live music and more than 20 entertainment stops will line the course, creating a festival atmosphere that embodies the spirit of the Good Life.
Spectators are encouraged to line the route, wave signs and help fuel runners to the finish line.
You can find more information about the race on the Good Life Halfsy’s website.
