The Lincoln Sports Foundation Sports Complex Opens

The Lincoln Sports Foundation Sports Complex kicked off it’s opening weekend with a ribbon cutting Friday.

Previously known as the Abbott Sports Complex, the LSF Sports Complex looks to offer more for the community.

“We can donate gym time to basketball programs, volleyball programs and soccer programs that are 5013C that are helping, you know, under privileged youth,” Dan Lesoing said.

The complex has over 100 acres ad a multipurpose indoor facility with 11 volleyball courts, four basketball courts and one indoor turf field.

The complex looks to host major tournaments for soccer but is looking to improve the fields for players.

“Here in the immediate future we want to upgrade the soccer fields, the playing surface, and get them back to more competition level. Right now they’re practice quality but they’re not competition quality,” Lesoing said.

With minor renovations out of the way, the facility hopes that all of their improvements will help open new doors and create an opportunity to expand the community.

“If you upgrade the facilities, the potential to hosting tournaments and bringing people in from other communities, states, nationally, you know, I think that would be a tremendous asset to the community,” Lesoing said.

Lesoing said the future of the complex is bright and never wants to limit it’s possibilities.

“We don’t want to be home of one club you know. We’d love to be the home of many clubs and have many organizations feel like this is home for them,” Lesoing said.

The complex will be continuing to celebrate it’s opening on Saturday with activities for everyone.
