The Lux opens holiday exhibition where the art is for sale

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lux Center for the Arts opened its exhibition “Gifted: Annual Holiday Show” on Friday.

The show comprises almost 500 submissions from artists around the Lincoln area. Pieces include ceramics, paintings and jewelry.

What makes the exhibition special is that it’s a “cash and carry” show, meaning you can pay for a piece and take it home right then and there.

In a time dominated by online shopping, the Lux believes this exhibition is a nice break from scrolling through countless pages of holiday gifts online.

“When you have an object that’s in a really well-organized space, it just adds so much to it,” exhibition director Haley Shaw said. “You see it in all dimensions, and I think it just really adds to the experience of shopping.”

The exhibition will be open to shoppers until Dec. 30.
