LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – It’s time to pull out the swim trunks.  Lincoln’s nine city pools are opening for the first time this year on Thursday.

The pools were initially set to open on Memorial Day but due to cold weather, the opening had to be delayed until Thursday.

“The wait is over,” Lincoln Parks and Recreation said in a Facebook post.

City policy requires a high temperature of at least 70 degrees for pools to open, according to officials.

The nine pools will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day of the week.

Family Swim Nights are scheduled to begin on June 2.  The fee is $15 per family of two adults and four children from 6 to 8 p.m. at the following pools:

  • Monday: Belmont
  • Tuesday: Eden
  • Wednesday: Irvingdale and Highlands
  • Thursday: Ballard
  • Friday: Arnold Heights and Woods
