Themed Christmas trees raise money for People’s City Mission during winter

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Friday marked the 13th annual Starry Nights Christmas Tree Festival, a fundraiser for the People’s City Mission.

The 34 uniquely decorated trees are on display at Gateway Mall.

Each tree has a theme, and visitors can bid on their favorite for a chance to take it home for the holidays.

All of the profits go toward the People’s City Mission.

“Even if you want to just walk through, you don’t have to spend any money here at all,” said CEO Pastor Tom Barber. “You can just see it and get ready for Christmas. Part of it is our way to say thanks to the community for supporting us.”

The fundraiser helps to fund the mission’s expenses during the winter months, which can add up quickly.

The festival will be open through 8 p.m. Sunday.
