Three arrested after getting caught with drugs, cash near East Campus

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two Lincoln men and an Omaha man were arrested Friday evening after investigators found drugs and cash in the back of their car.
Around 5 p.m., investigators with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force team were watching a suspicious man in the parking lot of a convenience store at 33rd and Holdrege streets.
According to the Lincoln Police Department, 50-year-old Thanh Ngo tried to get into a police cruiser after getting out of 65-year-old James Ross’ car.

Officers went over to the three men and smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the car.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found 15.3 grams of crack cocaine and 5.3 grams of marijuana, along with cash.
They also found that Ngo had swallowed some of the drugs when officers approached him.
Bullard and Ross were arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and possession of drug money.
Ngo was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
All three were lodged in the Lancaster County Jail.
