Three hospitalized after rollover crash in downtown Lincoln

Lincoln police are investigating a two-car rollover crash in downtown Lincoln early Thursday morning.

Officials say the vehicles collided at the intersection of O Street and Centennial  Mall, causing one of the cars to roll, trapping the driver inside the car. Police extricated the man, who was driving a black Chevy Tahoe and transported him to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The driver and passenger of the other car, a black Nissan SUV, were both transported with minor injuries.

Police believe speed was a factor – a street light, parking meter, and power box were all knocked out because of the accident.

Officials are still investigating if alcohol played a role.

City crews are working to restore power to the intersection. Temporary stop signs have been placed in the area.
