Three Lincoln Stars selected in 2025 NHL draft

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Three Lincoln Stars heard their names called Saturday in this year’s NHL draft.
In the second round with the 35th overall pick, the Nashville Predators selected Jacob Rombach. The 6’6 left handed defenseman is still only 18 years old. But, in his second season with Lincoln he recorded 18 points in 57 games played.
He was Ranked 42nd among North American skaters on NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings for the 2025 NHL Draft.
Next up, was Caeden Herrington. Herrington was taken by the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round, 120th overall.
The 6’2 righty defenseman finished with 16 goals and 18 assists in 56 games played this season.
Finally, Bruno Idzan was the last Lincoln Star to be taken in the 2025 NHL Draft. Idzan, the Croatian native was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the sixth round, with the 181st overall pick. Idzan played the least amount of games of the three players drafted Saturday, but he still was efficient.
The forward recorded 22 goals, with 22 assists in just 36 games played, averaging 1.22 points per game.
