Three People Hospitalized Following Two Vehicle Crash In Southeast Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Three people were hospitalized Monday morning following a two-vehicle crash in southeast Lincoln.

Just after 9:45 a.m., several first responders were sent to an area near the intersection of 54th Street and Normal Boulevard.

According to the Lincoln Police Department, a green 2018 Dodge Charger was traveling east on Normal when it swerved into oncoming traffic.

LPD said the Charger hit a white 2019 Kia Niro head-on.

According to LPD, the driver of the Charger said he looked over at the passenger’s phone but did not remember swerving into the other lane.

The driver and the passenger of the Charger were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Kia was taken to the hospital with broken ribs and a broken ankle.

According to LPD, the driver of the Charger was cited for negligent driving and for failing to provide proof of financial responsibility.
