Three teens caught with stolen vehicle after ‘brief’ chase in Lincoln, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Three teens were arrested Tuesday night after a chase in west Lincoln, police say.

Around 4:40 p.m., officers were sent to Northwest 48th and West Superior streets after a passenger in a Kia Optima pointed a gun at a person.

Less than an hour later, officers received a similar report from Eighth and B streets.

Investigators spotted the Kia at Ninth and O streets around 6:40 p.m. and followed it to the Capitol Beach neighborhood.

Police said the driver sped off from officers and eventually crashed near the U.S. Army Reserve Center on West O Street.

Three teens got out of the vehicle and ran away.  But after a short chase, all three of them were taken into custody, police said.

Officers learned the Kia was stolen and found a “realistic looking” BB gun inside, according to police.
