Three University of Nebraska students have had visas revoked

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The University of Nebraska provided an update Friday on the visa revocations among their students.

Three University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have had their visas stripped, a UNL spokeswoman said in a statement.

For context, there are 1,654 international students at UNL, according to the 2024 student census.

A spokeswoman for NU said no other students in the system have had their visas revoked.

According to the university, all three students are from different countries, and UNL doesn’t have any information on why they were targeted.

The university said privacy concerns prevent it from providing more details, but it did say none of the affected students have left the country.

UNL recommends you talk to an immigration lawyer at the Immigration Law Clinic at the Nebraska College of Law to learn more about visas and legal options.

Global Engagement and the International Students and Scholars Office continues to monitor the situation and remains in contact with students.

Earlier this month, it emailed international students information and support resources.

The email included a link to this FAQ prepared by the NU system office.
