Welcome to July in September.  The high temperature Wednesday reached 87°.  That is the warmest temperature in the state capital since September 6 when it reached 94°.  It is also the normal high temperature July 8-23.  More heat is coming for Friday and Saturday.

TONIGHT:  Clear skies and mild.  Low temperatures in the upper 50°s to near 60°.  Lincoln Low Temperature: 61°

FRIDAY:  Mainly sunny and warm.  Temperatures running 10°-15° above normal.  Winds will be gusty out of the south, shifting to the northwest.  High temperatures will be in the upper 80°s to lower 90°s.  Peak heat indices will be from 88°-94°.  Lincoln High Temperature: 90°

RECORD WATCH

The record high temperature temperature for Friday in Lincoln is 93° set in 1998.
