Top ten day Thursday; warming again into the weekend

Channel 8 is hosting a Bike Drive here at the station, starting at 6 a.m. today. We’ll be collecting bikes with Lincoln Bike Kitchen all the way until 6 p.m. tonight. Come by to see our friendly, familiar faces as it’ll be a top-day weather wise!

We’ll be drying out over the next few days and warming up back into the 80s by the end of the work week. One component that makes Thursday a top-10 day is very light winds! Winds will pick up more into Friday and this weekend.

Here’s a glimpse into the upcoming weekend, where 80s will be common. After another dry day Saturday, we’ll have several chances for rain and more thunderstorms on Sunday.

The signal for stronger storms through central Nebraska is showing up for Sunday, with a Day 4 risk from the Storm Prediction Center for possible severe weather expected with those storms. We’ll keep an eye on this.

The better chance for storms across eastern Nebraska will happen by Sunday night, but more details about timing to come as we see what shorter-range models have to say about it.
