Tostitos salsa error could be life-threatening; Frito-Lay issues national recall
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Frito-Lay issued a nationwide recall over incorrectly labeled salsa, which could be life-threatening if consumed.
The company says some 15-ounce Tostitos avocado salsa jars may contain an undeclared milk allergen.
People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk might suffer a serious or even deadly reaction if they eat it.
Frito-Lay said the back of the jar has another product’s nutrition information and declarations.
So far, no one has reported having an allergic reaction related to this recall.
Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk is advised to discard the salsa immediately.
The affected product has a UPC barcode ending in 05597. Its best-before date is either Nov. 2 or Nov. 3.
