Train show rolls on at full steam in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Grab a ticket and climb aboard the train show this weekend at the Sandhills Global Event Center.

The Lincoln Area Railway Historical Society is hosting a train show for all ages to take a look at hundreds of model train displays.

Kurt Wees has attended train shows for over 50 years. He said his favorite part is the interaction with the community.

“I just decided to show my layout this year, for the first time, because I finally completed it,” Wees said. “I’m showing military trains today, WWII, in honor of our veterans in foreign wars.”

Some folks show their layouts or share antique train collections, while others advertise merchandise.

This event is age-friendly for kids and adults alike.

The show continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission is $7 for adults, but you can get $1 off if you bring a canned food item. Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult.
