Train that carried former President George H.W. Bush is in Omaha

Union Pacific Train 4141 carried George H.W. Bush to his final resting place in Texas.

Union Pacific has a long history of transporting presidents and a long history with Omaha.

Bush got to drive the train, named in his honor, the day after they unveiled it in 2005.

Hundreds attended the event in Omaha on Sunday. One family said it was a day they will never forget.

“This is going to be something that different generations are looking at and to be able to bring our kids out here at this moment in time it’s something that they will always remember and it was great to do it,” said Brad Everet.

The locomotive and car is on display downtown near TD Ameritrade Park.

The final stopping point is still being determined.

If you are interested in seeing the train, it will be in Omaha until Wednesday at 12 p.m.
