Transfer tracker: RB Dante Dowdell latest Husker to enter the portal
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – With the college football regular season coming to an end, it’s that time of year where the landscape of the sport is shifted by the transfer portal.
Several Huskers are expected to change schools during the offseason due to the new roster limit rules, but the departure of defensive coordinator Tony White has put some surprise names in the mix.
The most recent Husker to throw his name into the transfer portal is running back Dante Dowdell.
Dowdell transferred to Nebraska this season and led the Huskers on the ground with 12 touchdowns.

Jacob Hood entered his name into the transfer portal on Wednesday.
Hood transferred to Nebraska in 2023 from Georgia. He didn’t get any game time in his one-year stint with the Huskers.

Nate Boerkircher also entered the transfer portal on Wednesday.
The Junior tight end came on strong towards the end of the 2024 season, with more than half of his season production coming against Wisconsin and Iowa.

Throughout his career at Nebraska, Boerkircher tallied 19 catches for 219 yards and a touchdown.
Freshman wide receiver Isaiah McMorris also entered the transfer portal on Wednesday.
