Trending cooler into the weekend

Hot, hot, hot! High temperatures reached the 90s for the sixth day in a row on Wednesday. It was our hottest day of 2023 so far, with temperatures reaching 97° by the late afternoon. That temperature was close to records, too, set back in 1934 and tied in 1963 of 100°. We look to break this pattern today.

Highs Past 6 Days

With cloud cover overhead on Thursday morning, we didn’t cool all that much from yesterday. Low temperatures were hovering in the lower 70s, with highs not expected to go that far during the day. Cooler air will be seen closer to the Missouri River, with 90s back in the forecast to our west along a stationary front.

Dma Today High Forecast

That aforementioned front will spark some activity along with daytime heating once again. We’ll see showers pop up the radar after lunchtime with chances increasing toward the Tri Cities and here in Lincoln by Thursday evening. Scattered storms will be possible again by Friday.

Jb Stormcast Am

Temperatures will be cooling down over the next few days, too. Another cold front will produce better chances for storms and rain on Saturday, keeping us cooler in the upper 70s and lower 80s by Sunday. Severe weather chances remain low through the rest of the week.

Temperature Trend

The start of next week should be a pleasant one as we clear out for a time before another few waves bring storm chances by midweek.
