Trending drier on Friday afternoon; More Saturday rain chances

While areas in central Nebraska saw a very healthy dose of rainfall on Thursday night, much of that activity broke apart by Friday morning. Nevertheless, spotty morning showers cannot be ruled out in southeast Nebraska. These will be hit-or-miss in nature, and won’t produce much accumulation.

By afternoon the spotty showers will exit and the sun pops out. It will be a warm and mostly dry afternoon on Friday, with highs in the middle and upper-80s.

Friday Forecast

Dry conditions should prevail on Friday evening. As a result, we expect mostly sunny and warm conditions for high school football games in eastern Nebraska. Temperatures should be in the low to mid-80s around kickoff.

Game of the Week Forecast

However, there will be storms ongoing in western Nebraska on Friday night. These will push east overnight and could bring more storms to central Nebraska. The energy associated with these storms may also spark a few showers near Lincoln on Saturday morning.

Stormcast Saturday Morning

Keep this in mind if you have any early tailgating plans. While a spotty shower cannot be ruled out around kickoff for the Husker game, any rain appears to exit through the game.

Huskercast

We’ll stay dry for most of Saturday afternoon, at least until more storms try to get underway in the evening. Long story short, there’s a morning and evening chance for storms on Saturday, with dry hours in between.
