Tri Fit Games returns to Lincoln’s Holmes Lake Park

This is the fifth year that Tri Fit Games Triathalon has hosted the event in Lincoln, and dozens of athletes and spectators made it out for the events.
Teams of three athletes compete in the Tri Fit Games for the fastest time in a series of running, biking and swimming with weightlifting and crossfit mixed in.
Competitor Lucy Zamecnik says “we all train for a variety of different events, were from diff gyms, I’m from Omaha they’re from Lincoln, so we, just before this event we come together and just go over the events and practice it then.”
Zamecnik’s team, ‘Scott’s Tots,’ came this year with one goal in mind.
“Three peat…we’ve won the last two years as a team,” teammate Scott Keller says.
The games are no simple task. It begins with a swim and rigorous beach and paddle board workout in round one, followed by biking and the crossfit station. Athletes then end the event with a run and series of heavy weights.
Shortly after finishing, teammate Phillip Kniep says “It’s just an hour and a half of pushing and working really hard to its just nice to be done with it for another year.”
Team ‘Scott’s Tots’ finished with a time of one hour and 37 minutes to achieve their 3-peat goal.
