LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Three people were arrested Monday in a narcotics investigation at a home in Norfolk, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

Patrol investigators were at a home near Victory Road and Benjamin Avenue when they saw two people put something under the hood of a vehicle.

Maurice Blacktail Deer, 34, and Corey Sholes, 33, were seen driving off in a Chrysler PT Cruiser, the patrol said.  They later returned to the home without the car.

Shortly after, a trooper found the same Chrysler, unoccupied, in the Northeast Community College parking lot.

A dog with the Norfolk Police Department smelled drugs, and troopers found meth and drug paraphernalia inside, the patrol said.

Investigators went to the home to serve a search warrant, and Blacktail Deer came out voluntarily before the search and was taken into custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including possession of meth.

Inside the home, investigators found more meth and drug paraphernalia.

Sholes and another person inside, 45-year-old April Zephier, were arrested on suspicion of possessing meth.

All three were taken to the Madison County Jail.
