Trooper slid on ice, crashed into two vehicles in Lincoln, patrol says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A state trooper was involved in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday in west Lincoln, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

Around 12:20 a.m., a trooper was heading north on Highway 77 with his lights and sirens on when he hit a patch of ice.

The trooper lost control and rear-ended a Chevrolet Malibu before crossing the median and hitting a southbound Chrysler Pacifica, the patrol says.

All three drivers were taken to a hospital, where they were treated and released, according to the patrol.

The Lincoln Police Department is conducting the crash investigation.
